Tamar Trails, Adventure Activities – archery and tree surfing
Set in a designated National Landscape and part of the Cornwall & West Devon Mining Landscape World Heritage Site, the tree surfing graded adventures offer a good family day out. In addition to walking and cycling you can go tree surfing and do archery (age 6+) here (booking recommended).

Old Hill Bike Trail, Wadebridge (34 miles from Kernock) Built for families and all abilities, this bike park provides a mountain biking adrenaline rush through a maze of obstacle courses. You will need to have your own kit and know what you are doing with this extreme sport– there is no equipment hire. Open 7 days a week. Helmets with face protection are mandatory, and body armour, gloves and eye protection are recommended. Trails from green (suitable for balance bikes) to the extremely challenging black run. There are some excellent indoor climbing facilities within easy reach of Kernock. Perfect for a not-so-sunny day, there is something to cater for all levels of ability, from total novices to seasoned pros.

The Climbing Hangar – Burrington Business Park, Plymouth – A world class climbing wall which covers climbing problems from V0 to V14, so is suitable for any ability of climber. They specialise in rope-free climbing, known as bouldering, which takes minutes to pick up and a lifetime to master. Clip n Climb, Plymouth – With 44 individual climbing challenges (including ValoClimb, an interactive climbing challenge), this is the biggest Clip n Climb in the UK, and has something for all the family.
