Children welcome at Kernock Cottages
Being parents ourselves, we understand that there is no such thing as an 8lb baby… by the time you’ve got all the kit they need in the car, you’re lucky if there’s room for a toothbrush for you. To ease the load a bit we have the following baby equipment, which should help to free up a bit of boot space for Mum & Dad! There is no charge - just let us know when booking what you need.

*For cots and the crib we can provide sheets, blankets and (for the cots) a baby duvet. If you use Grobags or similar then we will just put a bottom sheet on.
Each cottage has a hand blender (useful for preparing weaning foods) and a selection of matching
plastic cups, bowls and plates suitable for small children. There is also a picnic hamper in each cottage.
Playtime
Outside, we have a 14-foot trampoline with safety net, which is up between Easter and October half term. The adventure playground has two towers, a clatterbridge, staircase (with short treads for small legs), commando nets, swings, a climbing wall, and a wave slide!
We have just added an 18ft diameter Sioux Indian tipi, which sits on the edge of the woods near the play area. Perfect for rainy-day (or sunny-day…) adventures, or why not camp out in it for a night? Sleep under the stars, close to nature - listen to the hooting of the owls and feel the gentle breeze as you drop off to sleep. An unforgettable holiday experience! If it all gets too much, it’s not far back to the cottage! We can supply bedrolls and sleeping bags for you.
As well as individual gardens and lawn areas in each cottage, there is a large flat grassy area next to the adventure playground (known as the Football Field), which is great for ball games and running around. There are also a couple of wooded areas - perfect for hide-and-seek and making dens! For older children, why not bring their tent and let them camp out overnight in the garden for a night or two?
If requested, we can also provide basic toys for small children (lego, blocks, talking toys - eg telephone, drum etc) and books.
Buckets, spades and fishing nets are also available for taking to the beach for rockpool adventures and sandcastle fun!
