About Us
Hello, we are Louise and Damian Orton. We are loving being the owners at Kernock Cottages, in south east Cornwall.
It’s fantastic to be working together, and as the same effective team that we’ve always been in raising our family. Our successful careers have been focused on delivering service to others, and doing our best for our ‘customers’. Running Kernock gives us this same fulfilment and joy, and our outlook is simple – let’s give our guests the best possible holiday experience.
We have an excellent team who assist us, and their emotional buy-in to our customer service is unquestionable. We have 3 grown children who love to help when they can. There’s also our cockapoo Jaffa – who features regularly in our publicity.
We wish everyone out there the best of health and happiness, and would love to see you at Kernock whether for the first time or a repeat visit.

Four award-winning, dog-friendly, luxury holiday cottages with private hot tubs in South East Cornwall
Each of our four luxury holiday cottages sits in its own garden in our 22 acres. Each cottage has a private hot tub sitting on a deck under a gazebo in its garden. All our cottages are dog-friendly, and each cottage has an enclosed garden. The cottages are very well spaced and don’t overlook each other. Children and dogs are very welcome, and Heather Barn is fully wheelchair accessible. As it is all on one level, Heather Barn is also popular with families with toddlers, and those with elderly dogs, who enjoy the “underpaw” heating! The Coach House is perfect for couples looking to get away from it all. The beauty of Kernock is that you feel like you are in the middle of nowhere, but everything is within easy reach (we even have a Waitrose 4 miles away!). All within less than 10 miles are the beach, the moors, and Plymouth. There is lots to do locally too, or just stay at home and watch the buzzards soar over the valley from your hot tub!
